Halecrest Park Clubhouse

3107 Killybrooke Lane, Costa Mesa 92626
Catered by Taco Rosa

This is our largest fundraiser for the year and we hope that you can either participate as a sponsor or come to the event.

We have moved to a larger location this year, but have kept our amazing caterers—Taco Rosa.

Ivan Calderon and his chefs and crew always do a fabulous job.

The Halecrest Park Clubhouse has a lovely outside courtyard for the cocktail hour and silent auction, and a huge room for comfortable dining and program.

We hope you all can come!

Love and Art

Recently, some of the SOY Girls and some other youth from the Save Our Youth Center joined forces with a local non-profit that is dedicated to inspiring and empowering youth through art, cultural exchange, outdoor adventure, and environmental education.

Juniors, please read this announcement!

SAT Registration and Practice ACT

This is a reminder about the upcoming SAT on March 10th. If you are planning to
attend a 4 year college straight after high school (i.e. CSU, UC or private
universities), you MUST take the SAT. It is HIGHLY recommended
that students take the SAT and/or ACT during the spring of their junior year. The
deadline for regular registration for the SAT is February 10th. You can sign up at
www.collegeboard.org. If you are on free or reduced lunch, you qualify for a total
of 2 fee waivers that you can get from your school counselor. If you sign up for the
SAT on a fee waiver and don’t show, you will not be given another fee waiver. In
addition, if you are using a fee waiver, you MUST register by the regular deadline.
ACT Practice Test – Students that attend Estancia High School, your school will
be offering a practice ACT test on Saturday February 11th at EHS. I encourage all
4 year bound juniors to take the practice ACT. This way you can find out which
test you are better suited for. The cost is only $12.00 and you can pay at the ASB
window.
ACT Registration Information - students who would like to take the regular
ACT can register at www.actstudent.org. Fee waivers for the ACT are available at
your counseling office. The regular registration deadline for the April 14th ACT is
March 9th. If you are using a fee waiver, you MUST register by the regular
deadline.

Scholarship Opportunity

Below is yet another scholarship opportunity for you to apply. I can’t urge you enough to take the time to apply to as many scholarships as possible. If you are an AB 540 student, this would be a good one for you to apply to.

P.S. Please make sure that you turn in your school loop grades asap if you haven’t already done so. We will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King…
