Your Donation Makes A Difference!

As a charitable non-profit organization, SOY relies on generous donors to fund our programming. All donations help underserved teens right here in our community to reach their potential and live productive lives. Your donation, no matter the size, makes an enormous difference!

We support SOY because it changes young lives for the better by providing guidance, tutoring, scholarships, music, exercise and enrichment activities in a safe, supportive environment. An impressive number of SOY graduates become the first in their families to graduate from college and go on to productive careers. SOY is locally-based so we know our dollars stay in our own community. We are grateful to see the impact our support has on SOY teens.

I began as a malnourished seedling, and the people and programs who assisted me served as my nourishment. I’m still growing and changing to become the person I want to be. With the aid of the SOY Scholarship, however, I will be able to achieve greatness by devoting 100 percent of my concentration on my studies.

Ways to Donate

General Fund

Donations to SOY’s general fund allow us to provide the enrichment programming that positively impacts our teens’ lives. These unrestricted funds cover programming costs, operating costs, salaries, field trips and fitness equipment. To donate to the General Fund, please click here.

Scholarships

By donating to SOY’s scholarship fund, you are directly changing the life of a first-generation teen by helping them attend and afford college. Each graduating senior in our academic program receives a scholarship ranging from $1500 to $5000. These scholarships are funded entirely by generous donors. Over the years, SOY has awarded millions of dollars to help fund our students’ college educations. Equipment and Supplies

SOY gratefully accepts donations of equipment and supplies. Items on our wish list include:

Sports equipment (soccer balls, basketballs, ping pong paddles, etc.)

Watercolor paper
Musical instruments

Community Collaborations

Community collaborations and in-kind donations are essential to much of SOY’s programming. Some examples are: the Newport-Mesa YMCA donated stationary bikes for our spin classes; the City of Costa Mesa provides transportation to field trips and college tours; Straight Talk provides counseling for high school boys and girls; and much more!
